If your Interface got damaged during the update process, you can return it and the firmware will be installed correctly.

Return the Interface to the postal address under the web page Contact.

Oke. Is it free and can you flash the vista fw for me?

It's free. However, you have to pay the postage there and back.

I came across the Vista incompatibility issue as described.
Since the Interface is not recognized on my Vista PC, it's impossible to upgrade the firmware.

So I've tried to use another PC running XP. Installed the Multiplex driver, then IntCon following the instructions. So far so good.
The interface is recognized.
I launch IntCon and select the MFTech device. Then activate the bootloader and save it to the interface.
So far so good...

But here starts the problem. After I exit the IntCon application, I disconnect the interface, wait a couple of seconds and reconnect.
Launch the IntCon again and there's no sign of a bootloader device. I do have the MFTech device tough.
When I try to change the firmware, the popup appears but waits for the bootloader.

Any idea what I can do to solve this?
The interface seems to work fine when I connect my transmitter.

If your device is too old it does not have a bootloader. If you cannot remap the channels in IntCon, your device is too old. However, you can exchange your device with a new one (ask support via email).
